Before I ever even knew what yoga was, it called to me. Before I ever even wanted a practice in my life, yoga was there, waiting for me. When I began my slow and inconsistent journey, yoga was patient. When I felt that I was never going to get anything from it, yoga came through for me with exactly what I needed. When I became confident and boastful about my practice, yoga challenged me in new ways and helped me feel humble. Whenever I need something, with faith, practice, and dedication, yoga delivers. As a teacher, my goal is simply to share the gift of yoga with everyone who wants it (and maybe even the people who don’t want it), and my wish is that yoga serves you in whatever way you need it to.

Kiersten Koza

I have enjoyed yoga for the past 10 years, but my love for it has really evolved and grown over the past 3 years, leading me to become a Yoga Teacher. My goal is to share this special practice and it's many benefits with students. I strive to find what feels good in my own body, and encourage students to do the same. My approach to teaching yoga is through empowerment, support and encouraging self love.

Jamie Verley

The first time I found myself on a yoga mat was in 2006, on vacation, with a library DVD and the gripping fear that I was doing it all wrong. I was surprised that during the practice, I enjoyed the stilling sensation of being aware of my body and breath, and after, the warm and lasting glow I felt. Upon returning home, I signed up for a beginner series at my local studio, where I stayed for 5 years before moving to Fort Myers, FL. For me, yoga began as a way to heal severe back pain, condition my body, and to find serenity in a stressful life. Since, the true and lasting tradition of yoga has continued to unfold for me, and has become my greatest source of physical and emotional healing, of confidence and personal strength, and of mental and spiritual growth. I am honored by the opportunity to share my love for the many facets of yoga and the wellness system of Ayurveda through studio classes, workshops, private classes, and Be Well sessions! Through light-hearted, encouraging, and alignment/stability focused practices, my intention is to authentically empower others to find and grow in the strength and peace of their own inner lights.

Karina Wong

My yoga journey started back in 2013 when I began to practice at home using DVDs from the public library. It wasn't until I stepped into a yoga studio for the first time that I really fell in love with the practice. I loved the sense of community, acceptance, and support that I immediately felt. I was able to experience what yoga is all about, and every since then I have been hooked.
As a teacher, my goal is to share with students all the great benefits the practice of yoga brings to the physical body and the mind.
My teaching philosophy is very simple, if you have a heartbeat then you can do yoga! In my classes students will explore and become familiar with the connection the breath has with the body and the mind. I am here to guide and empower my students and let yoga work its magic. Can't wait to see you on the mat!!

Melinda Krichbaum

In my experience, yoga has always been an extraordinary outlet for healing. As a previous dancer and dance teacher, I have always loved witnessing people's ability to use their bodies to express themselves and find healing. I see the same in yoga. In my classes, I encourage you to use your practice to leave it all on the mat. Take the time to "empty your bucket", and then to refill it with a practice that instills self-love, nourishment, peace, and smiles. Our bodies are intricate tools with a beautiful intuition that can be expressed with alignment-focused yoga. I honor each student that shows up for themselves because I believe that is amazing, in and of itself.

Jean Klein

I found yoga in 2010 during a difficult time in my life. I was taking one or two classes a week and I remember thinking "Hey, that took my grief away for a second" and I found I could breathe easier. Soon after I retired from the Post Office and moved to SWFL I started my daily practice and realized Yoga has healing and energetic qualities. I began to understand that the ancient philosophies aligned with my beliefs and how I lived my life. I started to see Yoga as a tool for cultivating overall health, wellbeing and self-transformation. I realized this is big stuff and needs to be shared and I completed my 200 hour teacher training at Yoga Bird. My favorite thing about yoga is that it meets you where you are on any given day or moment and carries you to where you need to be. I like to design and teach classes that are accessible, meaningful and sustainable. In class we will consciously connect breath-body-mind while we explore the development of strength, flexibility and balance. I would like to teach you to practice with insight and inner compassion so as leave your mat you do so with an energetic feeling of sense and self.

George Kolebas

I have been a yoga instructor since 2001. In my class, you move through breath by breath with a primary focus on personal insight as well as the body’s mechanics. Be authentic. Create your asanas (yoga postures) from where you are today. Yoga poses are like snowflakes, no two are exactly alike. Spice it up by working with the breath and clear your space with meditation. Experience yourself with a sense of wholeness and completeness. As an instructor, I enjoy witnessing the student's deepening expansion of presence and hearing words like "That was just what I needed," after class.

Chip Withrow

I have been a teacher for 23 years – almost half my life – of everything from driver education to middle school reading to golf to guitar to high school journalism to homeschooling an amazing 12-year-old daughter – and in November 2014 I became a certified yoga instructor.Yoga can be a powerful tool for clearing our path through this world – for being a non-judgmental observer, an active and joyous participant, and a shining light for others. I want to demonstrate that yoga can be practical and accessible, that it can ground you and elevate your senses of wonder and gratitude. My wish is that those who come to my classes feel that they can take their yoga off the mats and into their daily lives. And oh, yeah – let’s have fun in those classes, too! Because yoga has been such an incredible gift for my family, and I am delighted that I get to share that gift.

Elizabeth Spear

I started practicing yoga in 2010, and it has changed my life in so many ways. I have discovered a place deep inside myself that is always joyful, confident, content and at peace no matter what is happening in my life. It can be hard to hold on to these feelings when life gets crazy, but that is one of the reasons I will always continue to practice yoga. I have my bachelors in the science of health and wellness and have a strong passion for helping others find true health in their body, mind and spirit. Yoga is great for the physical body, but it is so much more. It also helps to create a more calm mind by, little by little, stilling the chaos and distractions .I’m so excited to be able to share my knowledge of yoga with others and possibly help others experience positive life changes as a result.

Andrea Schiebe

I first started practicing yoga as a seventeen-year-old in my living room. My practice deepened in college when I studied abroad in Guatemala where I discovered Ashtanga yoga at a small yoga studio near my home with my host family. Amidst the struggles, stress, uncertainties and fears of life - yoga gets me through and brings me back to the peace that is within myself. I soon realized I wanted to share this feeling and gift of yoga with others and the incredible healing, energizing, and soothing benefits that it offers. Through yoga I am able to combine my passion for helping people live a better life, and my knowledge of health and wellness. As a teacher, I enjoy giving students the opportunity to come to their mat and connect deeper with their body, mind and spirit. I offer an atmosphere to build awareness, embrace individuality, and connect to something on a greater level and see the world that is working with us, not against us.
This upbeat, mixed-level class incorporates both alignment of the body and vinyasa (breath by breath movement) to help you experience profound benefits in a short time. In this class, you very much design your own experience, with the instructor suggesting ways to slow down and focus on inner awareness or ways to build heat and challenge. The diversity available in this practice is part of what makes it so fun.
