Hannah Bryant

I first discovered yoga in 2009 as a high school student. Throughout college I would sporadically attend yoga classes, but it wasn’t until I moved to Florida from Louisville, Kentucky that my curiosity for yoga really started to deepen. I can remember so vividly one day sitting on my mat and thinking to myself “what does all of this mean?”. I continued to be curious for a couple more years, and then, with the encouragement of a dear friend who knows Yoga Bird well, I started the yoga teacher certification here. Now that I've received my certification, I teach yoga and other fitness classes to the senior population at a retirement community where I also offer personal training. With a background in Kinesiology, I have always enjoyed sharing my knowledge of the human movement system with people that I encounter in classes and in private sessions. As a yoga teacher, I always consider myself a student first and a teacher second and I know I will continue to learn and grow with the support of Yoga Bird’s wonderful community.

Jamie Verley

The first time I found myself on a yoga mat was in 2006, on vacation, with a library DVD and the gripping fear that I was doing it all wrong. I was surprised that during the practice, I enjoyed the stilling sensation of being aware of my body and breath, and after, the warm and lasting glow I felt. Upon returning home, I signed up for a beginner series at my local studio, where I stayed for 5 years before moving to Fort Myers, FL. For me, yoga began as a way to heal severe back pain, condition my body, and to find serenity in a stressful life. Since, the true and lasting tradition of yoga has continued to unfold for me, and has become my greatest source of physical and emotional healing, of confidence and personal strength, and of mental and spiritual growth. I am honored by the opportunity to share my love for the many facets of yoga and the wellness system of Ayurveda through studio classes, workshops, private classes, and Be Well sessions! Through light-hearted, encouraging, and alignment/stability focused practices, my intention is to authentically empower others to find and grow in the strength and peace of their own inner lights.

Kimberly York

I was going through a rough time in my life and I really had no idea where to turn. I tried yoga in 2014, and began practicing everyday. After a couple of months I was really feeling the wonderful effects yoga has to offer. This led me to teacher training at Yoga Bird. It has opened the door to so many gifts that I can carry with me for the rest of my life. I would love to share what I have learned with you as I guide you through a yoga practice. No matter where you are in your practice, I think you are perfect.
Slow down your yoga practice by lengthening, deepening and following the breath. Learn how to incorporate mindfulness into each movement as you begin to awaken your nervous system and allow it to create peace and calmness. Students are encouraged to move with their breath to gain a deeper, more tranquil access to each pose. Great for beginners and advanced practitioners alike.
