My yoga journey started back in 2013 when I began to practice at home using DVDs from the public library. It wasn't until I stepped into a yoga studio for the first time that I really fell in love with the practice. I loved the sense of community, acceptance, and support that I immediately felt. I was able to experience what yoga is all about, and every since then I have been hooked.
As a teacher, my goal is to share with students all the great benefits the practice of yoga brings to the physical body and the mind.
My teaching philosophy is very simple, if you have a heartbeat then you can do yoga! In my classes students will explore and become familiar with the connection the breath has with the body and the mind. I am here to guide and empower my students and let yoga work its magic. Can't wait to see you on the mat!!

Jamie Verley

The first time I found myself on a yoga mat was in 2006, on vacation, with a library DVD and the gripping fear that I was doing it all wrong. I was surprised that during the practice, I enjoyed the stilling sensation of being aware of my body and breath, and after, the warm and lasting glow I felt. Upon returning home, I signed up for a beginner series at my local studio, where I stayed for 5 years before moving to Fort Myers, FL. For me, yoga began as a way to heal severe back pain, condition my body, and to find serenity in a stressful life. Since, the true and lasting tradition of yoga has continued to unfold for me, and has become my greatest source of physical and emotional healing, of confidence and personal strength, and of mental and spiritual growth. I am honored by the opportunity to share my love for the many facets of yoga and the wellness system of Ayurveda through studio classes, workshops, private classes, and Be Well sessions! Through light-hearted, encouraging, and alignment/stability focused practices, my intention is to authentically empower others to find and grow in the strength and peace of their own inner lights.
Learn more about yoga and about your mind-body connection in Yoga 2. This class will explore more subtle aspects of aligning the body as well as breathing and meditation techniques that help you begin to develop your own rich, full practice of yoga. Some more challenging poses may be explored, but as always, modifications are given for multiple levels of ability. The focus of the class is a deeper practice, rather than an advancement of physical ability.
